ZOTAC RTX 3070 Ti AMP Extreme Holo Review

There is no doubt that Zotac have gone all in on the Holo designation with one of the shiniest, most colourful boxes we’ve seen in a while. Assuming you forget about the Zotac RTX 3080 Ti Holo. We like it. It makes a nice change to the regular matte packaging we see all the time.

  

The Holo has a triple fan design with heavily curved fan blades in plentiful number. The central fan has a deep recess to help suck in all the air it can, and you also get a good look – as you will again in a later photo – at the holographic effect edge that gives the Zotac its name.

  

Around the back we have a nice looking backplate to help spread the heat across the length of the PCB. There are two versions of the AMP Holo in the Zotac line-up and you can tell this is the Extreme model by the chip just next to the GPU itself.

  

From the side you can see the 8+8+6 PCI power requirements of the AMP Extreme Holo, as well as the extended thickness of the card when compared to the regular Holo. This is a card that is designed for big performance and cooling. We can’t wait.

  

That POWERBOOST chip on the back is designed to monitor the voltages and keep ripple and fluctuations to a minimum to improve stability and longevity of your highly prized purchase.

  

A closer look at various elements of the Holo. The holographic edge has a protective film – that’s the slight bubble you can see at the extreme left. The fins are tightly packed and the keen eyed amongst you will see how many heat-pipes there are connecting all the metal parts together.

  

Those of you who like your heatsinks chunky and your shrouds to be fullsome will enjoy the side view of the Zotac RTX 3070 Ti AMP Extreme Holo. The fins are so tightly packed it is a mark of the build quality and tight tolerances of the Zotac. Very nice.

  

At the business end we find all the elements that are familiar to anyone who has been paying attention to recent Nvidia graphics cards. DisplayPort and HDMI all capable of 8K60 output. Nice if you’ve got the panel to support such resolutions.
