ZOTAC RTX 3070 Ti AMP Holo Review

Conclusion

When we reviewed the Zotac RTX 3080 Ti AMP Holo we found it to be one of the better performing takes upon that particular card, and here in RTX 3070 Ti AMP Extreme Holo format it’s every bit as impressive.

We said in our introduction that our experience with various RTX 3070 Ti cards is limited by the world shortages of which you will all be familiar. Nonetheless the Zotac spanks the two cards we had reviewed – the Gigabyte Eagle and the Nvidia Founders Edition – in average clock speed and this has a nice boost to performance in games too. Usually our gains are to be found in the minimum frame rate, or at the extreme end of the detail/resolution spectrum, but across the board there is plenty of performance lying within the AMP Extreme Holo.

What really impresses us is how low the power draw of the card is relative to its performance, as well as how cool it remains even under serious strain. Certainly if you plan on purchasing this card then you will have lots of headroom available for overclocking and fine tuning until you’ve gained even higher results than we managed with our, admittedly limited, time with the card.

The Holo element might be a little divisive if you’re just looking at the card in its naked state here on our table, but inside your case with the full-length RGB lighting in full effect it’s a very attractive card. It sits somewhere in the middle where it isn’t as gaudy as the Palit Game Rock for example, but neither is it as understated as the ASUS TUF cards.

This might be a brief conclusion but only because there are no negatives to say about the Zotac AMP Extreme. It’s a card which runs cool and quiet even under hefty loading, it has enough glitz and glamour to attract those who like a bit of lighting in their case, and the performance is off the hook straight out the box with plenty of available for those of you who are keen on fine tuning it until you extract every last ounce of potential from it. With the POWERBOOST chip on board keeping the 16+2 power phases in check and smoothing out any voltage ripples, you can be confident that your efforts will be rewarded.

The Zotac RTX 3070 Ti AMP Extreme Holo is a brilliant take upon the middle child in the Nvidia range, and easily wins our OC3D Performance Award.
