Don’t you adore the looks of the Kingston Fury Renegade RGB Limited Edition? Every time we look at our MSI case build, shown on page 2, we’re stunned at how well it all fits together. The design has just enough black to blend in, just enough RGB to stand out, and just enough red to really pop. Anything that looks different to the morass of monochrome memory modules makes us merry.

It’s always gratifying when a plan comes together. We knew that there are some major changes coming to the memory world soon. That meant we had to find a way to clearly show off the differences between current kits and that future. Without actually knowing what that future is yet. We’re not Cassandra. However, having tried a host of testing methods that followed our OC3D ethos – namely tests that are largely easy to replicate at home for minimal outlay – we’re pleased with the ones we finally decided upon. Perhaps demonstrating the time difference between rendering a 1 hour long 4K video in Adobe Premiere Pro might give a more telling result, but it’s also hopelessly expensive to do. Times are tight for all of us, especially jobbing writers. We want everyone to feel welcome and able to compare their system to a potential upgrade and spend wisely.

We do have to remind those of you who skipped our introductory page that this Kingston Fury Renegade kit is capable of 8000MHz. It has an XMP profile and everything. Our test set up couldnt get it to run at those speeds hence 7200MHz being the peak result in our graphs, we thought this was something really worth driving home because its not like we were using substandard kit either. This is a memory setup at the peak of current thinking, and thus you need to have a robust setup to fully utilise it. Dropping down a speed gave the results you saw, and blimey they were impressive. We didn’t expect gaming to show much of a boost across our kits, given how much games are coded towards consoles, but the Kingston worked with aplomb.

The Kingston Fury Renegade RGB Limited Edition kit is perfect for those of you who want the ultimate speed. Or just want a kit that looks significantly more premium than most. It’s a gorgeous thing, in gorgeous packaging, with performance to burn. Treat yourself.
