be quiet Power Zone 2 1200W Power Supply Review
Conclusion
Conclusion
The be quiet Power Zone 2 1200W is a PSU that ticks a lot of boxes. It’s quiet, it’s efficient, and it’s fairly affordable. It sets itself above Gold-rated PSUs, with our testing showing efficiency levels of up to 94%. We can also say that we did not hear this PSU during testing, which makes this PSU fairly quiet. That said, there are limits to how quiet we can make a room that’s filled with PC hardware. However, this PSU’s Cybenetics “A” noise rating backs up what we heard with our ears, so consider that claim verified.
While it doesn’t deliver the stellar voltage ripple performance of be quiet’s Dark Rock Pro 13 series, it delivers admirable performance. With its dual 12V-2×6 power outputs, this PSU is also well-suited for all potential future hardware configurations. Should future GPUs use two of these connectors, either for an increased safety factor or for higher (600W+) wattages, this PSU is ready.
All-in-all, we have a solid PSU here. While it isn’t the top of be quiet’s range, it’s certainly a solid performer. That said, if be quiet were to make a Power Zone 3 PSU in a few years, we would like to see a model with lower voltage ripple. That would turn this already good PSU into something truly excellent.
What we have here is a PSU that is more than worthy of consideration. It has great specifications at a solid price, and our testing backs up these claims. This PSU is more than worthy of our seal of approval.
