Most PSU manufacturers supply their units in a basic box, and minimal effort is put into making your power supply look and feel premium. That is not the be quiet way!
The Dark Power Pro 13 1600W is be quiet’s flagship power supply, and be quiet wants the unboxing of your unit to be an event. That means premium packaging, and that means that the externals of your PSU is going to be made of solid materials.
The Dark Power Pro 13’s unboxing experience is an event. Owners of this PSU will be paying a lot of its 1600 watts of power delivery, and be quiet have made sure that their units are well packaged and showcased effectively.
With its brushed aluminium exterior and its fully modular nature, be quiet’s Dark Power Pro 13 is a handsome power supply, a unit that will look great in any PC. Blow we can see all of this PSU’s power outputs, which includes two 12VHPWR connectors, something that makes this PSU ideal for heavy GPU overclocking or multi-GPU workstation configurations. Â
The Dark Power Pro 13 is cooled using a frameless Silent Wings fan that be quiet had designed specifically for their power supplies, providing them with ample cooling at lose noise levels. Even under 1600W loads, this PSU’s noise levels are rated at under 35 dB(a), which is whisper quiet. If your PC is making noise, that noise isn’t coming from this power supply. Â
Like all PSUs with huge power output potential, the be quiet Dark Power Pro 13 is fed using a huge power connector, which is much beefier than the standard “kettle lead” that most PSUs utilise. The bushed aluminium exterior of this Dark Power Pro can be seen here, making this unit look premium from all angles. Even how the mesh lines up with the aluminium panel looks planned, with the mesh pattern behind the brushed aluminium plate being identical between each slat. Now that’s attention to detail!  Â
All of the power cables that come with be quiet’s Dark Power Pro 13 are sleeved, with the vast majority of supplied cables being individually sleeved. Sadly, this is not the case for this PSU’s 12VHPWR cables, which are not individually sleeved and do not match the rest of this PSU’s supplied cables. Thankfully, this PSU’;s 12VHPWR cables are using the 12VHPWR connector on both ends, allowing users of this PSU to easily swap these cables out for pre-sleeved cables from companies like CableMod should users want them.
