A popular statistic for manufacturers to quote because it tells you about the ability of multiple programs to request a read write operation of the drive without having to wait too long for their request to be actioned. In non-enterprise setups – so most of our desktops – it is less of an deal maker although still interesting.
In two of our graphs the results bear out the relative pricing of the three models, but the Intel is seriously capable in a read environment even if it isn’t necessarily the fastest actual drive in MB/s terms.
