Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice PC Performance Review

AMD VS Nvidia – RX 480 VS GTX 1060 – Low to Very High Settings

When comparing AMD’s RX 480 and Nvidia’s GTX 1060 the results are not very surprising. Unreal Engine 4 provides Nvidia with a huge home team advantage, especially when outside of big budget AAA games and AMD’s lack of a game optimised driver only makes this situation worse.

While yes a newer AMD RX 580 will perform better than our ASUS RX 480 Strix, the performance gains will not be enough for AMD to catch up our ASUS GTX 1060 Strix.

That being said these results are when playing the game at 1440p, so a decrease in game resolution to 1080p or ultra-wide 2560×1080 will yield a decent performance boost. We found that the worse in-game performance can typically be found in sections of the game where stormy weather is present, particularly when rain is involved, so we would advise that players tune their settings for these kinds of scenarios to achieve stable performance throughout the game.
