NieR: Automata BECOME AS GODS Edition Port Report – The Best PC Version?

1440p – Yes, MSAA is a real performance killer!

Yes, even Nvidia’s RTX 3070 is unable to play NieR Automata: BECOME AS GODS Edition at 1440p near-maxed settings with a smoothed capped framerate of 59 FPS. That said, 4x MSAA isn’t much of a visual downgrade and gives us a flat framerate. 

Our RTX 3070, RTX 2080 Ti and RX 6800 graphics cards all ran at a capped 59FPS framerate when using 4x MSAA, making these GPUs ideal for playing NieR Automata at these resolutions. 8x MSAA is too much for most modern graphics cards, and it explains why most game developers have moved to Temporal Anti-Aliasing solutions in recent years. 

With Anti-Aliasing disabled, both our RX 5700 and RTX 2060 graphics cards were able to achieve solid framerates within Nier Automata’s new PC version.
