Zombie Army 4: Dead Wars PC Performance Review and Optimisation Guide

1440p Performance – Fantastic Performance Scaling

At 1440p, we can see a significant drop in performance for all of the graphics cards we tested, but not what one would guess given 1440p’s 80% increase in resolution over 1080p.

Every graphics card except for our ageing RX 580 and GTX 1060 are able to achieve 60 FPS performance throughout our in-game performance testing, which is great news for those who use a quad-HD (QHD) screen.

AMD VS Nvidia

Unlike 1080p, 1440p gives neither AMD or Nvidia a major performance advantage. Now AMD’s RX 5700 and Nvidia’s RTX 2060 are within spitting distance of each other, and AMD’s Radeon RX Vega 56 has gained a performance advantage over Nvidia’s GTX 1070. Even AMD’s RX 580 has made gains against Nvidia’s GTX 1060.

At 1440p, Nvidia retains a slight edge in some cases, but they aren’t dominating AMD. Things are remarkably close.

DirectX 12 VS Vulkan

For AMD users, DirectX 12 and Vulkan continue to offer similar performance levels at 1440p, with Nvidia users getting increased performance under Vulkan in all test cases.
