Gaming

All of these tests are run at 1440P, with absolutely every setting cranked to the maximum. Company of Heroes 2, Ghost Recon Wildlands, Metro Last Light Redux and Total War : Warhammer are all transformed past the magical 60 FPS barrier from their previous performance on the 980 Ti.

At minimum you can expect to see a 50% improvement in frame rates whilst a lot of the titles give around a 90 percent improvement in average frame rate. Best of all the card, by virtue of not running flat out all the time, is significantly quieter than the triple fans on the GTX 980 Ti.

It is unquestionably an upgrade worth investing in, particularly if you’re running in resolutions above 1080P. It is also interesting to see how the more universally owned quad core i7-6700K powers the GTX 1080 Ti instead of our usual X99 test setup.
