Performance is so intertwined with temperatures that low numbers are important here. Obviously at a basic level hot = noisy and nobody wants that. But automatic hardware overclocking – boosting – is now so good that any thermal headroom ensures extra speed. We all like speed. We found in our testing of the new Ultras that they ran a little warm, and clearly the cooler here is the bare minimum you can get away with.
