Huge Bethesda Leak – Huge gaming roadmap revealed

Fallout Remake and Dishonored 3

Court documents spill the beans on Bethesda’s gaming plans

Microsoft’s court documents leak has revealed a colossal amount of  information on the company’s future plans. We now know about Microsoft’s Xbox Series refresh and their plans for a next-generation Xbox, and that only scratches the surface of what has been revealed. Alongside Microsoft’s leak is a Bethesda leak, which showcases the company’s entire gaming roadmap for 2020-2024. This roadmap contains many unannounced games,  and several games that were originally planned to be released before today.

Microsoft’s leaked documents include a ZeniMax roadmap that comes from before Microsoft’s acquisition of the company in 2021. As such, this roadmap is very out of date and revealed how heavily delayed some of Bethesda’s games are. For example, Starfield launched earlier this month, and Bethesda has this game listed as a FY2021 release. Additionally, Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game should have released by now.

The Verge were the first to Microsoft’s leaked Bethesda documents, and how they have revealed several unannounced Bethesda titles. The unannounced games from this Bethesda leak include DOOM Year Zero, Dishonored 3, remasters of Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and a sequel to Ghostwire: Tokyo. The list of games from this Bethesda leak also includes unknown games like “Project Kestrel”, “Project Platinum”, and a “licensed IP game”.

This roadmap contains a lot of delayed games

The image above clearly shows that The Elder Scrolls VI is due to be released in FY2024. This is something that simply is not going to happen given how delayed Starfield’s launch was. We can also see that Bethesda’s Indiana Jones game did not make its FY2022 release target, and that other games have missed their intended release dates.

Based on Bethesda’s leaked roadmap, the company has a lot of games in the works. That said, it is unknown how many of these game projects remains in development, as it is possible that some of the games above have been axed. Microsoft acquired Bethesda in 2021, and Microsoft may have forced major changes to Bethesda’s roadmap.
