It’s official! NZXT have started making motherboards!
This motherboard offers users a lot of customisation, with replaceable all-metal covers that can be replaced if the user wishes. The base motherboard is available with white or black full motherboard covers, with metal VRM and chipset heatsink covers releasing for $14.99 to give users Black, White, Blue, Red and Purple colour options. Modders will be able to pain these kits to suit their PC’s custom colour scheme.
With support for dual M.2 slots, overclocking, four SATA ports as well as both CrossFire and SLI, NZXT does offer everything that users should expect from a new motherboard. Even so, with a price tag of $299, we would have preferred if options like a USB 3.1 Gen 2 internal header was added, especially if they plan on adding that feature to future case designs.
Cooling-wise, the N7 Z370 offers users a total of nine fan connectors (1x CPU_FAN, 1x AIO_PUMP, 1x W_PUMP and 6x SYS_FAN), all of which can be controlled using NZXT’s CAM software. The board also includes two RGB lighting channels, that can also be controlled with software.
NZXT has also included a unique “Adaptive Noise Reduction” feature, which can listen to your PC to find the ideal balance between fan speeds, noise and cooling, allowing users to reduce their fan noise by as much as 40%. NZXT states that they use “machine learning” to deliver optimal results.
The only major concern here is how new NZXT is to the motherboard game, with BIOS updates and UEFI quality being a potential concern, though this will be something that will be looked into be reviewers in the near future. One other concern is how connected this motherboard is to the NZXT ecosystem, offering a lot of unique features while also being somewhat limiting.
At this time it is unknown whether or not NZXT plans to release an equivalent AM4 motherboard. The N7 Z370 will start shipping in Late January in the US and Europe.
