Two new Ryzen high-performance mobile processors leak

Yesterday we posted a report which showcased some leaked information regarding AMD’s recently leaked Ryzen 7 2800H CPU, a new High-Performance mobile CPU with Radeon Vega graphics.

Now, thanks to Videocardz, we have some additional information about this new Ryzen platform, including a new SKU called the RYzen 5 2600H. These new CPUs are high-performance variants of AMD’s existing Ryzen Mobile series of processors, designed to function in a higher TDP environment and offer additional CPU performance to their users.

The 3DMARK data below shows that these two new APUs were tested on an HP system called the 84EF, though at this time it is unknown whether or not this test system is a future mobile product or desktop test platform. Videocardz has stated that these two systems were using an RX 550 graphics cards, rather than each CPU’s integrated Vega graphics processor.

What AMD currently lacks in their mobile portfolio is a medium-powered processor for standard notebook form factors, with their existing Ryzen Mobile U-series catering to the small form factor/Ultrabook crowd.

Ryzen Mobile H has the potential to offer notebook users reasonable levels of gaming performance at a low cost, a lot like AMD’s existing Ryzen 5 2400G and Ryzen 3 2200G on the desktop side. It will be interesting to see how AMD’s Ryzen H notebooks will perform, especially if notebook manufacturers can supply their systems with fast dual-channel memory.
