EK appears to be preparing an AMD Radeon VII water block

AMD’s Radeon VII graphics card has been available since February 7th, but so far no water block manufacturers have released full cover water blocks of the graphics card, leaving many Radeon fans wondering whether or not the GPU will ever receive proper water cooling support.

Thanks to a user on the AMD subreddit, who contacted EK to uncover the release date of their unannounced Radeon VII water block, we now know that EK plans to release a Radeon VII water block “in 4-5 weeks”, with the company’s support representative stating that they will release more information regarding the water block at a later date.

AMD’s Radeon RX Vega series f graphics cards benefitted greatly from liquid cooling, utilising the increased thermal headroom to maintain higher boost clocks and deliver enhanced performance. Back in 2017, EK released a report which claimed that their RX Vega 64 offered a 9% performance boost and a 4% reduction in power draw by trading AMD’s reference blower for the company’s full-cover water block. Perhaps the Radeon VII would see similar benefits when liquid cooled.
