MSI becomes the world’s fastest growing Gaming Monitor brand

Today we know that MSI’s foray into the gaming monitor market has been a success, with Trendforce revealing that Micro-Star International (MSI) has become the world’s fastest-growing gaming monitor brand, seeing shipments grow by 112% in 2018, with 2019 being expected to deliver the company year over year shipment growth of 46%. 

Despite being a latecomer to the gaming monitor scene, MSI has showcased their ability to make quality products, ranging from high refresh rate 1080p offerings to ultra-high-end offerings like the MPG341CQR, which ships with a 34-inch 3440×1440 ultrawide panel, DisplayHDR 400 support, variable refresh rates up to 144Hz and full VESA mount compatibility. 

The market for “gaming” displays has grown immensely over the past number of years, with “gaming” being defined as monitors which offer refresh rates of 100Hz or above. Most of these displays also offer some form of variable refresh rate technology, either in the form of G-Sync or VESA Adaptive Sync (commonly known as FreeSync). Within this section of the market, ASUS, Acer, AOC/Philips and MSI are fighting for dominance, with ASUS being the current market leader.
