Corsair has announced that they have acquired the US-based boutique PC builder Origin PC, a move which will significantly expand the company’s influence within the PC marketplace.

This comes little more than a year after Corsair’s acquisition of Elgato Gaming, a move which brought Corsair deeper into the world of game streaming.

By acquiring Origin PC, Corsair has allowed themselves to offer PC gamers a wider variety of custom PCs. The move has also enabled the company to align itself with the Origin PC to improve its future products alongside its iCUE software ecosystem. Another bonus is that Corsair can supply more parts to Origin PC to support other aspects of its business. Corsair has already confirmed that Origin PC will soon start using Corsair Hydro X series liquid cooling components in select Origin PC systems.

Origin PC will remain as a separate brand within Corsair and will continue to be managed from its Miami Florida office. Existing Origin PC warranties and support services will be unaffected by the acquisition.
