Leaked Intel marketing slides confirm Comet Lake’s desktop specifications

Intel’s next-generation of Core Desktop processors are reportedly due to launch later this month, bringing 5GHz+ clock speeds to Intel’s desktop platforms and up to 10 total CPU cores.

Leaked marketing slides from Intel, as revealed by Videocardz, have confirmed the specifications of Intel’s upcoming i9-10900K, i7-10700K and i5-10600K processors, validating existing leaks for the company’s desktop-grade Comet Lake series processors.

Intel’s Comet Lake-S series of desktop processors are due to release on a new CPI socket called LGA 1200, making Comet Lake incompatible with Intel’s existing LGA 1151 motherboards. This means that today’s Intel 300-series motherboards won’t support Comet Lake-S series processors, a factor which will force Intel fans to adopt a new motherboard platform.

Z490 is set to become Intel’s next-generation enthusiast motherboard platform, and El Chapazas Informatico has reported that the review embargo for Comet Lake-S and Z490 is on April 30th.
