Lenovo reveals three new Nvidia RTX GPUs with its Legion R5 28IMB05 system

Lenovo new Legion R5 28IMBO5 has a tonne of CPU and GPU options, including GPU options currently unavailable to the public. These new graphics cards include Nvidia’s RTX 3050, RTX 3050 Ti and RTX 3060 graphics cards, making this the first unofficial reveal of an RTX 3050 Ti graphics card.

While Lenovo has not released detailed specifications for these new graphics cards, they have confirmed that Nvidia’s RTX 3050 will ship with 4GB of GDDR6 memory, which is likely to be used over a 128-bit memory bus. The RTX 3050 Ti will offer users 6GB of GDDR6 memory over what is likely to be a 192-bit memory bus. Like previous leaks have suggested, Nvidia’s RTX 3060 will likely release with 12GB of GDDR6 memory over a 192-bit memory bus.

The use of RTX branding on all of these graphics cards confirms that Nvidia’s RTX feature set is entering the low-end of Nvidia’s product line, delivering hardware-accelerated ray tracing and AI acceleration features to the masses. Having these features on mainstream PC hardware will encourage more developers to adopt ray tracing and Nvidia’s DLSS technology, a positive move for the Geforce brand.

Nvidia is planning to host a Geforce Special Broadcast on January 12th. At this event, Nvidia is likely to announce its RTX 30 series of mobile graphics cards and lower-end RTX 30 series products. This event will be hosted on January 12th at 9 AM PST/ 5 PM GMT.
