343 promises an excellent PC experience for Halo Infinite – “the best ultrawide support”

On PC, Halo Infinite promises to deliver “some of the best ultrawide support I’ve ever seen in a game”, according to  Mike Romero. Halo Infinite will support 21:9, 32:9, and beyond resolutions in-game, during narrative moments, and in menus. Don’t expect cutscenes to be in-engine cutscenes to be letterboxed in Halo Infinite. 

PC gamers will also be receiving a variety of display settings, framerate options and a wide variety of input options that span across mouse/keyboard, non-Xbox gamepads and more. Halo Infinite will also support a dynamic resolution option on PC that will minimise framerate dips below player-defined framerates.    

Halo Infinite will not be a sloppy PC port; that’s what Microsoft promises today. Moving forward, PC and Xbox consoles will stand on equal footing, offering tailored experiences on each platform. Halo Infinite will launch on PC, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S, with all platforms featuring cross-play and cross-progression. 

PC-hosted local servers

On PC, 343 will be allowing gamers to “host a local multiplayer server on your PC”. This will allow other players to join your LAN on both PC and Xbox, delivering local multiplayer to Halo Infinite on both platforms. PC gamers will be able to play LAN matches of Halo Infinite!
