Intel Kaby Lake i3 7350K Review

Introduction

The 7th Generation of Intel CPUs have been pretty good so far. The combination of their reduced nanometre process when compared to their 6th Generation counterparts has lead to better overclocks, and the Z270 chipset is a refined, improved version of the Z170.

For those on a tighter budget the Core i3s have always been a decent choice if you were planning to either solely game or just use it as the basis of an internet browsing machine, but there has always been a cost involved in terms of overclocking – usually none.

With the i3-7350K Intel have sought to bring all the excellent qualities of the 7th Generation – lower power draw, lower temperatures, better overclocking – and stuffed them into a tiny Dual-Core CPU. So here we have the latest in the Intel i3 range, a processor that supports Hyperthreading and, as we’ll see on the next page, thinks nothing of 5 GHz. Let’s crack on.
