Introduction
Earlier this year we saw the launch of the Phantom Link products from Sapphire. These utilise a BTF connector to bring you the sleekest possible system build.
BTF is all well and good but it does mean limiting yourself to buying a whole new setup. Where Sapphire have absolutely knocked things out of the park is in their design. You can utilise the Phantom Link design if, like us here with their X870EA motherboard, you’ve a fully capable setup. But if you want to gradually build up your rig, or just enjoy a very neat setup in your current one, the Sapphire RX 9070 XT Nitro+ Phantom Link has a brilliant solution. Cables, hidden round the literal back of the card. This not only means that BTF and vanilla fans can have a tidy system, but it also solves the 12VHPWR cable issues that plagued early releases and still scares us enough we barely touch them if possible once in situ.
We’re here to show off the Phantom Link in its best possible form. To do that we’ve enlisted the help of Corsair, who have kindly provided a full suite of hardware to let us build a gorgeous rig that really highlights the AMD and Sapphire combination. For OC3D afficionados you’ve seen the various elements individually before. Here in the complete BTF world, and built inside the peerless Corsair Air 5400 LX-R case, we’re thrilled to bring you the whitest system around. With the teal-est lighting ever committed to case. Okay it might be turquoise, but it’s tough to turn that into an adjectival superlative.
Test Setup
Obviously we knew from our previous experience what would show the Sapphire Phantom Link off best, and Corsair delivered. Their Air 5400 LX-R case has two chambers to help keep the GPU and CPU optimally cooled. If youre wondering what the memory is….. We have reused an older Domintor Platinum memory kit from 2022, we thought reusing an older memory kit in the current market better reflects what you guys would be doing at home.
