Intel Arrow Lake 20% single-threaded boost shown in leaked benchmark

Alleged Arrow Lake benchmark showcases impressive single-threaded performance gains

An alleged benchmark for Intel’s upcoming Arrow Lake architecture has leaked via Baidu, revealing impressive single-threaded performance gains from Intel’s new CPU architecture.

With a single-threaded score of 1143.2, this CPU is almost 27% faster than Intel’s i9-13900K. If we move to Intel’s fastest consumer desktop CPU, the i9-14900KS, single-threaded performance gains of 20% are shown. That’s an impressive result for Arrow Lake, assuming that this benchmark result is legitimate.

Sadly, the core count of this alleged Intel CPU is unknown. However, its lower multi-threaded score suggests that this CPU has fewer cores than Intel’s Raptor Lake flagships. This alleged prototype could be a model with disabled cores, or some other change that will limits its multi-threaded performance.

Intel is due to launch their Arrow Lake desktop CPUs later this year. These CPUs will arrive alongside new LGA-1851 Z890 series motherboards. Like Lunar Lake, Arrow Lake will feature new Intel P-Core and E-Core designs.

For many workloads, single-threaded CPU performance is king. Yes, additional multi-threaded CPU performance is beneficial, but not all workloads benefit from higher CPU core counts. For workloads like gaming, single-threaded performance is incredibly important. If this leaked benchmark is legitimate, gamers will have a lot to be excited about with Intel Arrow Lake.
