Cooler Master X Silent Edge Platinum 1100W PSU Review
Meet the Cooler Master X Silent Edge Platinum 1100
Passive cooling at 1100 watts! Cooler Master achieves silence with its X Silent Edge series
Honestly, I never thought this day would come. Cooler Master has released their first 1000W+ passive power supply! That’s enough power to keep even the most power-hungry of gaming systems going. It wasn’t long ago that a 650W power supply was pushing the limits of what’s possible without active cooling. Now, Cooler Master has pushed past this limit, creating their X Silent Edge series of power supplies.
This power supply has no moving components, making it completely silent. This has also allowed Cooler Master to ship their new X Silent Edge 1100 with an aggressive 15-year-long warranty. After all, fan failures are impossible for a passive power supply.
Another addition to Cooler Master’s PSU lineup is MasterCRTL, which allows users to monitor their PSU’s thermals, current load, and overall performance.
Cooler Master + Infineon = Magic!
The Cooler Master X Silent Edge series is the result of technological innovations from Infineon. Cooler Master’s partnership with Infineon has allowed them to deliver their latest cutting-edge power supplies. The new semiconductors from Infineon and the cooling prowess of Cooler Master have come together in the X Silent Series to deliver fanless PSU cooling to eliminate noise issues and dust buildup.
Under this PSU’s top plate, we can see a series of large heatsinks, though there is more to this PSU design than large internal heatsinks. This PSU’s housing is made of aluminium and is filled with heatpipes. This makes this PSU’s coverings a large heatsink, allowing it to dissipate heat.
