Retailers list ASUS ROG Flow Z13 gaming tablet with AMD Strix Halo APU

ASUS’ ROG Flow 13 gaming tablet leaks through retail listings

Thanks to @olrak29_ and Videocardz, we have become aware of multiple retail listings for ASUS’ ROG Flow Z13, an AMD Strix Halo-powered gaming tablet. This tablet contains an AMD processor with up to 16 Zen 5 CPU cores and a high-performance integrated GPU. Recent rumours suggest that this APU will offer RTX 4070 (mobile) levels of gaming performance.

AMD will likely reveal its new “Strix Halo” processors at CES 2025. These CPUs aim to capture the high-end notebook market, catering to gamers and those who want a powerful thin-and-light system.

Retail listings for the ROG Flow Z13 pair it with 32GB of LPDDR5X storage, a 13.4-inch 180Hz WQXGA (2560×1600) display, and 1TB of integrated SSD storage.

With its powerful RDNA 3.5 GPU, AMD’s Strix Halo processor will offer GPU performance that competes with Nvidia discrete GPUs. This makes Strix Halo a platform that Intel and Nvidia can’t compete with, as Intel lacks a strong enough integrated graphics solution, and Nvidia cannot make x86 CPUs. Strix Halo is a single product that pairs powerful graphics with a strong 16-core CPU. This offers system builders design simplicity when it comes to product design. After all, it is easier to power and cool a single component than two separate components.
