Battlefield REDSEC is launching today – Here’s what you need to know

Battlefield is getting a free-to-play Battle Royale mode

EA has confirmed that Battlefield REDSEC will launch on October 28th at 3 PM GMT, a free-to-play Battle Royale game that debuts alongside Battlefield 6’s Season 1 content.

Battlefield REDSEC acts as EA’s counter to Call of Duty: Warzone. Currently, exact details for the new game are unknown. However, the teaser image for the mode features four characters with different classes. This suggests that REDSEC is a squad-based mode with 4-player squads. Currently, the maximum player count of this mode is unknown.

Leaks suggest that the game will support up to 100 players and feature a map that contracts over time. This is similar to other Battle Royale-style games. This new game/mode was reportedly developed by Ripple Effect, which is now part of Battlefield Studios.
