Sony unveils 240Hz PlayStation Gaming Monitor
Sony’s upcoming PlayStation Gaming Monitor has a dedicated DualSense charging hook
Sony has unveiled a new 27-inch PlayStation Gaming monitor that targets desktop PlayStation 5 users and PC gamers. This monitor features official PlayStation branding and is scheduled to become available in Japan and the USA next year.
This 27-inch monitor is a 1440p (QHD) display that features a maximum refresh rate of 240Hz and VRR (Variable Refresh Rate) support. The screen features a dedicated DualSense charging hook, which is compatible with Sony’s DualSense and DualSense Edge controllers. This allows users to display and charge their controllers when they are not in use.
With Sony’s PlayStation 5 consoles, this display supports refresh rates of up to 120 Hz at 1440p, with 240Hz being supported on compatible PCs and Macs. The monitor supports VESA mounts, HDR, and features built-in stereo speakers and 3.5mm audio out.
This PlayStation gaming screen uses an IPS panel with a 1440p resolution. Note that the maximum resolution that Sony’s PlayStation 5 supports is 4K. The screen is due to launch next year in the US and Japan. Currently, Sony has unveiled no pricing for this monitor or an official release date.
