Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake release date leaks

Ubisoft’s long-awaited Sands of Time Remake is due to launch in mid-January

Rumour has it that Ubisoft’s remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time will be released next month. The game was originally revealed in 2020 and had a 2021 release date, though negative reactions to its trailers forced Ubisoft to effectively restart the project. Now, it looks like the game is nearing completion.

According to Insider Gaming’s Tom Henderson, Ubisoft plans to release its new Prince of Persia remake on January 16th 2026. Marketing for the game is expected to start soon, with a reveal at this year’s The Game Awards seeming likely. However, it is also possible that Ubisoft may “shadow drop” the game, releasing it suddenly with minimal marketing.

Given how long this remake has been in development, it will be interesting to see what Ubisoft finally delivers. It has been five years since the original remake was unveiled. Will this be the remake that gamers have hoped for? How much will it be improved over the original remake?
