IO Interactive confirms PSSR and FSR 3.1.5 support for 007 First Light

IO Interactive confirms FSR 3/4 and “upgraded PSSR” support for 007 First Light

007 First Light is coming to PC and consoles on May 27th, and IO Interactive has confirmed that the game will launch with “upgraded PSSR” and AMD FSR 3.1.5. Until now, IO Interactive had only confirmed that the game supported DLSS on PC with its detailed PC system requirements.

Sony’s “upgraded PSSR” will be 007 First Light’s default upscaler on PlayStation 5 Pro at launch. On other platforms, AMD’s FSR 3.1.5 is the game’s upscaler of choice. On PC, 007 First Light will support Nvidia’s DLSS 4.5 Upscaler and its Dynamic and Multi-Frame Generation technologies. For AMD users, FSR 4.1 support should be available through AMD’s automatic “FSR Upgrade” driver feature. Note that AMD FSR 4.1 is coming to both AMD RDNA 3 and RDNA 2 GPUs in the future.

Upgraded PSSR will be the default upscaler on PlayStation 5 Pro for 007 First Light at launch. Players on other platforms will continue to benefit from FSR 3.1.5, which remains our upscaler of choice outside of PS5 Pro.

– IO Interactive on Sony’s PlayStation Blog

IO Interactive has noted that Sony’s “upgraded PSSR” delivered a “meaningful jump in image quality across the board”. The studio reported cleaner, more stable, and sharper gameplay overall. Similar benefits can be seen with AMD FSR 4.1, which uses the same AI models as Sony’s upgraded PSSR.

Upgraded PSSR gave us a meaningful jump in image quality across the board — cleaner, more stable, and noticeably sharper on the kind of fine detail that’s hardest to get right. It’s a clear upgrade for our PS5 Pro players.

– Henrik Schlichter, Technical Director, IO Interactive

At launch, 007 First Light will support Nvidia DLSS 4.5, AMD FSR 3.1.5 (and FSR 4.1 through FSR Upgrade), and PSSR. This means that PS5 Pro users and PC gamers with modern AMD and Nvidia graphics cards will be able to utilise high-quality upscaling at launch. Sadly, IO Interactive has not unveiled whether 007 First Light will support Intel XeSS at launch on PC.
