Asus Reports First Ever Quarter Loss

Asus Reports First Ever Quarter Loss

The struggling global economy continues to hurt the computer industry as people find themselves less wanting of expensive computers.  For the first time ever, component manufacturer Asus has posted a quarterly loss to the tune of just over $100 million.  However, unlike some of the big names, such as AMD, who have resorted to layoffs, Asus has chosen to weather this storm with a more noble method.  Until things are back to normal, all Asus executives above the level of vice president will take a 30% pay cut.  That’s not all.  Members of the board of directors will be taking a massive compensation reduction of 60%.

Asus, for taking such a commendable action in these hard times, I salute you.
