Asetek may sell its liquid cooling business to an unknown buyer

Someone’s interested in buying the liquid cooling arm of Asetek

Asetek has confirmed that they have received an “Indication of Interest” (IOI) for their liquid cooling business. That means that an unknown buyer has expressed interest in buying that segment of the company.

In addition, Asetek has confirmed that it has “multiple parties” interested in potential partnerships for its “currently dormant data center related liquid cooling asset portfolio.” In other words, servers are getting increasingly power-hungry, and there is growing interest in high-performance liquid cooling solutions for servers.

Currently, it’s unknown who is interested in purchasing Asetek’s liquid cooling arm or who the company’s potential datacenter partners are. This possible acquisition could completely change the PC liquid cooling market. After all, Asetek’s hardware can be found in a lot of liquid cooling solutions. That said, Asetek’s presence in this market isn’t as big as it used to be.

Asetek has received an indication of interest concerning its Liquid Cooling business. Such interest has increased in relevance, and discussions are taking place with multiple parties related to a potential partnership focused on utilization of the currently dormant data center related liquid cooling asset portfolio. Discussions are ongoing, and no agreements, terms or commitments have been entered into by the Company at this stage, and it is uncertain whether any formal agreements will materialize.

Asetek – Q1 2025 Report

If this Indication of Interest leads to an acquisition, Asetek will be a changed company. Its focus may move exclusively to its SimSports brand. That would be a big change for the company, as they are primarily known for their liquid cooling solutions.
