Asetek reveals its Rad Card liquid cooler, the first PCIe radiator for consumer systems
Asetek also supplies OEM PC makers with custom units, as well as server providers and a large number of other industrial customers. If you need an all-in-one liquid cooling solution, Asetek is one of the first companies that you should be speaking with.Â
One of the challenges that liquid coolers need to overcome is spatial restrictions, as radiators are large, and the size of consumer and business-grade PCs are often a major selling point. To help tackle this issue, Asetek has created a new type of radiator; a PCIe radiator card called the “Rad Card”.Â
This innovative liquid cooler designed will be used first in Alienware’s latest Aurora R11 system, allowing users to liquid cooler a Geforce RTX 2080 Super graphics card. This allows Alienware to keep their system components cool and quiet, while also keeping their systems within a tight form factor.Â
When compared to a standard air-cooled RTX 2080 Super, Asetek’s custom liquid cooling solution delivers a reported 69.2% lower noise levels and 19.5% lower GPU temperatures. The radiator also exhausts air out the rear of Alienware’s R11 chassis, keeping hot air away from the system’s other components. Â
Asetek has confirmed that this liquid cooling solution will be limited to Asetak’s OEM partners, at least for now, so don’t expect to see this cooling solution on the consumer market in the near future. Â
