Be Quiet launches their Dark Rock 5 heatsink

be quiet! expands their Dark Rock family with their new Dark Rock 5 CPU cooler

be quiet has announced that their new Dark Rock 5 CPU cooler will become available later this month. This new heatsink gives PC builders a compact alternative to their existing Dark Rock 5 PRO and Dark Rock Elite CPU coolers. We reviewed both of these CPU coolers last year.

The Dark Rock 5 features many changes over its last-generation counterpart. For starters, we have better motherboard/DRAM compatibility, but be quiet has also promised increased cooling performance while maintaining low noise levels.

With its six heatpipes and Silent Wings 4 120mm PWM fan, the Dark Rock 5 is designed to be “virtually inaudible” during use. At its maximum fan speeds, this cooler runs runs with 29.8 dB(A) noise levels, and users can install a second fan if they desire increased airflow.

The be quiet Dark Rock 5 features an all-black aesthetic, a magnetic top, and a fixed mounting base. These features make cooler installation a breeze, and gives the heatsink an elegant look.

Thanks to its nickel plated base, this heatsink is compatible with liquid metal thermal interface materials. That said, this heatsink will ship with a standard thermal paste. This new heatsink will be supported by a 3-year warranty.

be quiet’s new Dark Rock 5 CPU cooler will be available from retailers from June 25th. The heatsink will be available with a recommended retail price of $69.90 / €69.90 / £64,99.
