Enermax makes EATX affordable with its MK50 Makashi enclosure Â
EATX cases are often expensive, and there is a clear reason for that. EATX cases need to be large, and that comes with inherent material costs. Enermax has decided that it wants to make the EATX form factor a little more affordable, thanks to their new Makashi MK50 chassis.Â
At £69.41 at Amazon UK, Enermax’s Makashi MK50 offers front-mounted RGB lights, support for up to two 360mm water cooling radiators and support for up to six storage devices using 4x 2.5-inch drive bays and 2x 2.5/3.5-inch drive bays.
Like most modern cases, the Makashi MK50 features a screw mounted tempered glass side panel and integrated RGB lighting, which can be controlled using a button on the enclosure or using 3rd party software utilities like ASUS Aura Sync, Gigabyte RGB Fusion 2.0, ASRock Polychrome and MSI Mystic Light. At stock this case ships with a single 120mm fan. Â
Our only problem with this case is that it doesn’t seem to feature enough space to provide enough airflow at the front of the chassis. This could become a problem with certain setups, but this cannot be confirmed without dedicated testing.Â
On the Makashi’s front, I/O comes a USB 3.0 ports, dual USB 2.0 ports and HD Audio ports, all of which feature anti-dust rubber plugs. The case also features a built-in PSU shroud and movable 3.5-inch hard drive bays. This case’s movable hard drive bays allow this case to support PSUs that are up to 200mm in length.Â
