SilverStone’s CS330 looks is a great option for Video Editors and Home Servers

If you need access to lots of storage, you will need a case with a lot of 3.5-inch drive bays. With this in mind, SilverStone has created its new CS330 chassis, offering users a compact MATX form factor and support for up to seven 3.5-inch hard drives. 

When looking at the CS330, two use cases come to mind. Video Editing and Home Storage/Server applications. This case is for those who don’t want a huge system, but still want to have access to a large number of mechanical, or solid-state, storage devices. With this case, there are four hot-sway bays for three 3.5-inch storage drives and a single 2.5-inch storage drive, a factor which will be ideal for those who frequently need to access archived data on loose hard disk drives. 

Cooling-wise, this case features a single 180mm Air Penetrator fan at the front of the enclosure and a single 120mm fan in the rear. Your case’s PSU will receive cooling through dedicated vents, and all of these vents are dust filtered. While this won’t offer the best airflow in the world, it will be more than adequate for a home server and video editing systems. 

Inside this case, CPUs coolers that are up to 165mm tall are supported, and the case features a built-in CPU cooler support, something which will allow users of this system to move the weight of their cooling solution off their CPU socket. This support can help prevent damage when moving this case with a system inside. The CS330 also supports graphics cards that are up to 336mm in length, and motherboards that are up to MATX in size. The roof and motherboard tray of this case can be removed to make the installation of components easier.
