AMD confirms that their first ‘Zen 3 Client processor’ is ‘on-track’ to release this year
In a new blog post, AMD’s Rick Bergman, the company’s Executive Vice President of Computing & Graphics, confirmed that the company would have more to share about its “high-performance journey” later this year. Furthermore, Bergman revealing that the company plans to launch its ‘first “Zen 3″ Client processor” in 2020. Â
The key word within this announcement is ‘client’, a word which is specific to the consumer PC market. By saying ‘client’, AMD means Ryzen. This reconfirms that AMD has plans to release new Ryzen series processors later this year. Many prior teases for Zen 3 didn’t specify which markets AMD would be addressing in 2020, leading many to speculate that AMD was delaying Zen 3 Ryzen to help ship Zen 3 EPYC faster, or vice-versa.Â
