AMD Ryzen Threadripper 2990WX appears on Newegg – Pricing Revealed

Newegg has let the cat out of the bag, revealing the pricing of AMD’s upcoming Threadripper 2nd Generation 32-core, 64-thread 2990WX before AMD was given the opportunity to make an official announcement.

How much does AMD’s 32-core Threadripping monster cost? Well, if you believe Newegg the part will cost $1,799.99, a price tag that is similar to Intel’s 18-core i9-7980XE, giving AMD an insane core/thread count advantage.

Strangely, Newegg’s listed specifications do not match previous leaks, listing a boost clock speed of 3.4GHz instead of a boost clock speed of 4.2GHz. At this time it is unknown which boost clock specification is accurate.

Newegg’s retail listing states that AMD’s Threadripper 2nd Generation processors make use of AMD’s Zen architecture and GlobalFoundries’ 12nm process node, with the Threadripper 2990WX offering a TDP of 250W and support for overclocking.
