AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 3960X, 3970X and 3990X Launch/Reveal Dates Have Leaked

AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper family is finally moving to 7nm and into the company’s Zen 2 product lineup, delivering increased power efficiency, IPC, and core counts.

Now, rumour has it that AMD plans to reveal their Ryzen Threadripper 3rd Generation lineup on November 5th, at least according to leaked documents from Videocardz

In these documents, three processors are mentioned; the Ryzen Threadripper 3960X, the Ryzen Threadripper 3970X and the Ryzen Threadripper 3990X. November 5th is also the date that AMD’s long-rumoured TRX40 chipset will be revealed.

Videocardz has also reported that AMD’s TRX40 motherboards and Ryzen Threadripper 3960X and 3970X processors will release on November 19th at retailers. The Ryzen Threadripper 3990X will release at a later date and is expected to only be teased on November 5th. A January 2020 release date is expected for AMD’s flagship Threadripper model.

AMD’s leaked documents seemingly make no reference to core counts and clock speeds for AMD’s upcoming Threadripper series processors. It is also worth noting that there is no mention of a Ryzen Threadripper 3980X series processor.

Previous leaks have suggested that AMD’s Ryzen Threadripper 3960X will be a 24-core processor. This suggests that AMD’s higher Threadripper models will release with higher core counts.
