Gigabyte reveals their TRX50 AERO D motherboard for AMD Threadripper 7000 series CPUs

Gigabyte reveals AMD’s TRX50 motherboard platform for Ryzen Threadripper and Ryzen Threadripper PRO processors

Gigabyte has listed a new motherboard called the TRX50 AERO D, unofficially revealing AMD’s Ryzen 7000 series of Threadripper processors. Interestingly, this motherboard appears to support both AMD Ryzen Threadripper 7000 and Ryzen Threadripper PRO 7000 series CPUs. At this time, it is unclear what the difference is between these Pro and non-Pro models.

AMD’s Threadripper lineup targets content creation and heavy workstation workloads. Threadripper CPUs feature high core counts, a large number of PCIe lanes, and support for more memory than their standard Ryzen counterparts. With TRX50, AMD are moving their Threadripper CPU lineup to DDR5, specifically, DDR5 R-DIMMs, at least according to this motherboard listing.

With their TRX50 AERO D, Gigabyte are offering users support for four DDR5 R-DIMM modules, 10GbE connectivity, WIFI 7, Dual USB 4 ports, and a huge number of PCIe lanes.

AMD has not currently revealed their TRX50 motherboard platform or their Ryzen Threadripper 7000 series of processors. Gigabyte has likely listed this new motherboard early, in error. Perhaps this means that AMD will officially reveal their new Ryzen Threadripper processors soon?

Below are the specifications of Gigabyte’s new Threadripper compatible AERO D motherboard.
