Intel is set to cut their CPU prices to combat Ryzen 3rd Gen

Intel has no immediate response to AMD’s Ryzen 3rd Generation processor lineup, with the company having no release plans to desktop-grade Ice Lake processors and officially announced products to succeed their 9th Generation Coffee Lake series processor. All they have is the i9-9900KS, which has no official pricing or release date at this time. 

So what can Intel do now? According to DigiTimes, this is Intel’s plan, to cut the pricing of their current-generation 9th Generation product lineup by 10-15% and to focus on more promotions and product bundles. Intel’s marketing focus will be on gaming performance, an area where Intel believes their processors will retain an advantage over Ryzen. 

AMD’s Ryzen 3rd Generation processors are designed to target Intel processors by offering similar gaming performance and more cores/threads, marketing their processors to gamers who wish to have more performance on tap for creative applications and other heavy workloads.
