Intel’s i9-10900 has been purchased and benchmarked – Intel Engineering Sample Tested
Meet Intel’s i9-10900 ES (Engineering Sample), a 10-core, 20-thread processor which ships with a maximum TDP of 65W. This is Intel’s low-TDP desktop 10-core, a processor which Intel hopes will compete well with their competition’s high-end AM4 offerings.Â
XFastest has tested this unreleased LGA1200 processor with Cinebench R15, CPU-Z and Cinebench R20, showing off the power of Intel’s latest 10-core processor. That said, engineering samples my offer different performance profiles than their retail counterparts, especially when using non-retail motherboards and BIOS files. Even so, this should give you a decent idea of what to expect from Intel’s 65W 10-core.Â

In XFastest’s benchmarks, clock speeds varied wildly during their testing, especially during their multi-threading heavy tests. In Cinebench R15, the processor achieved a multi-threaded score of 1670 cb and a single-threaded score of 182 cb. In Cinehench R20, the engineering sample achieved single-threaded and multi-threaded scores of 441 cb and 3714 cb, respectively.Â
These scores are from the video below, though it is worth noting that these scores were achieved on unfinalised hardware. As such, these results may not reflect the performance of Intel’s retail i9-10900 processors.Â
