Leaker claims AMD Zen 5 CPUs are 40+% faster than last-gen

Core-to-core, AMD’s Zen 5 CPUs are reportedly 40% faster than their predecessors in SPEC

AMD are due to launch their next-generation processors later this year. These new CPUs from AMD will feature the company’s Zen 5 CPU cores, which one leaker has claimed are 40% faster than their predecessors in SPEC benchmarks.

What’s more impressive is that these performance gains are on a “core to core” basis. That means that AMD’s performance gains are not coming from higher core counts. These performance gains are coming from single-threaded performance improvements.

If this leak is accurate, AMD’s Zen 5 Ryzen CPUs will be very impressive processors. A 40% generational performance improvement is huge. In fact, such a large performance gain will be the largest generational performance boost that AMD will have delivered since the release of Zen/Ryzen.

This is  not the first time that leakers have claimed that AMD has delivered 40% performance gains with their Zen 5 CPUs. An alleged Cinebench score leak has suggested that AMD’s Zen 5 CPUs are 40% faster than their predecessors. This leaked Cinebench R23 score is a score of over 2800.
