MSI launch first official X570 AGESA 1.0.0.4 updates – Promises faster boot times
Support for AGESA 1.0.0.4 will come to all of MSI’s X570 series motherboards before the end of October, placing the update’s release within the next week.Â
having extensively tested AMD’s AGESA 1.0.0.3 ABBA update, we know that AMD’s latest AGESA updates are worth installing, with version 1.0.0.4 promising a wide range of bug fixes alongside faster boot times.Â
Faster boot times? Yes, a lot of your system’s boot times on modern motherboards are due to your motherboard’s BIOS. Faster CPUs, memory and storage mediums will help speed things along, but ultimately it’s your system’s BIOS that will limit your boot times. With AGESA 1.0.0.4, MSI states that boot times into your system’s BIOS will become 20% faster, which is a significant boost for any system.Â
MSI’s AGESA 1.0.0.4 updates will also deliver Ryzen 3 2200G and Ryzen 5 2400G support to X570 motherboards, a feature which was missing from older BIOS updates. Now, MSI is working hard to bring AGESA 1.0.0.4 to older 400-series and 300-series AM4 motherboards.Â

Below are the results of MSI’s boot time testing with their AGESA 1.0.0.4 update, revealing 7-8 second speed ups for all boot times. This will represent a huge change for most systems, and make your X570-based PC feel a lot more responsive when adjusting BIOS settings or during your PC’s initial boot up.Â
The results below are achieved using an MSIÂ MEG X570 GODLIKE motherboard with a Ryzen5 3600 CPU and 2x 8GB of DDR4 memory.Â
