New latest Intel Coffee Lake processors start selling at retailers

Intel is currently putting the finishing touches on the remainder of their Coffee Lake CPU lineup, with retailers stocking up for the incoming launch. Some retailers have jumped the gun and have started selling this new SKUs early, with models ranging from locked i5s to sub-£100 Celeron and Pentium class CPUs.
These CPUs are expected to see an official launch within the next few weeks, alongside long-awaited budget 300-series chipsets and motherboards, such as B360, H370 and H310. Right now the only 300-series motherboards available are Intel’s high-end Z370 series of enthusiast overclocking motherboards, which are somewhat wasted when using locked (non-overclockable) processors.

For the most part, these new chips are lower clocked, locked variants of models that already exist, at least in the case of the i5 8600, i5 8500 and the i3 8300. The low-end will be filled by new sub-£100 Pentium and Celeron class CPUs, all of which are dual cores. Pentium CPUs will offer Hyperthreading, just like Kaby-Lake series Pentium CPUs, making them similar to last-generation i3 models.
