The King Returns – AMD to revive Ryzen 7 5800X3D as “AM4 Anniversary Edition”

It looks like AMD’s bringing back its strongest AM4 gaming CPU to combat the world’s memory shortage

The leaker HXL has unveiled an image that appears to confirm the return of AMD’s Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPU. When memory pricing skyrocketed in 2025, we called on AMD to bring back its AM4 X3D CPUs. These CPUs support DDR4 memory and AMD’s older AM4 motherboards, making them an excellent upgrade option for gamers who want to avoid high DDR5 memory prices.

It looks like the Ryzen 7 5800X3D is getting revived as an “AMD AM4 10 Year Anniversary Edition” CPU. The CPU will feature the same specifications as existing Ryzen 7 5800X3D CPUs, with eight Zen 3 CPU cores, 96MB of L3 cache, and a 105W TDP. This is a straight-up re-release of AMD’s best AM4 gaming CPU.

The leaked slide for AMD’s re-released CPU is Chinese. Currently, it is unknown when this CPU will be released or if it will be released in Western markets. All we can say is that AMD needs to release this CPU worldwide.

As PC building becomes increasingly unaffordable, PC gamers need a win now more than ever. If AMD brought back the Ryzen 7 5700X3D/Ryzen 7 5800X3D, it would sell. Yes, AMD’s newer Ryzen 7 7800X3D and Ryzen 7 9800X3D are better CPUs, but the high price of DDR5 memory makes them poor options for value-conscious gamers.

Let’s face facts: today’s DDR5 memory prices are nuts. These high prices will significantly harm the DIY PC and PC gaming markets. Relaunching the Ryzen 7 5800X3D and 5700X3D will secure AMD’s position in the affordable PC gaming market. In today’s market, these CPUs will sell like hot cakes. AMD, make this happen. For the gamers!
