Value X3D? AMD Ryzen 7 9700X3D CPU Spotted

It looks like AMD has three new Ryzen 9000 X3D Gaming CPUs in the works

Benchmarks for a new Ryzen 9000 X3D CPU have been spotted, suggesting that AMD plans to rework much of its Ryzen 9000 series product line with gaming-oriented offerings. AMD’s Ryzen 7 9850X3D and Ryzen 9 9950X3D2 CPUs have already leaked. Now, it appears that AMD also has a new value-oriented X3D product, the Ryzen 7 9700X3D.

This new CPU model appears to be a slightly downclocked version of AMD’s Ryzen 7 9800X3D. The CPU delivers largely similar performance levels to the 9800X3D in the leaked Passmark benchmark below. This CPU is expected to act as a lower-cost alternative to the Ryzen 7 9800X3D. In a sense, this makes this CPU a successor to AMD’s Ryzen 7 5700X3D.

If this leak is accurate, it appears that AMD is replacing its Ryzen 7 9800X3D with two CPU models. First, there is AMD’s rumoured Ryzen 7 9850X3D, which features a 400MHz faster boost clock. Then there is AMD’s lower-cost Ryzen 7 9700X3D. This move will inject new life into AMD’s Ryzen 9000 series lineup ahead of AMD’s planned Zen 6 CPU launches in late 2026.

If AMD launches these new X3D CPUs, it will cement AMD’s leadership in the CPU market amongst gamers. However, it is worth noting that both AMD and Intel plan to launch new CPU lineups in the second half of 2026.
