3DMARK Time Spy Benchmark result leaks for Nvidia RTX 2080

It’s finally happened, benchmarking data for a Nvidia RTX 2080 graphics card has appeared on the UL benchmarks 3DMARK database, revealing the performance of Nvidia’s latest GPU offering.

In 3DMARK Time Spy Extreme, the RTX 2080 achieved a graphics score of 4925, a score which is significantly higher than what we have seen on Nvidia’s GTX 1080 Ti hardware. For context, when we tested MSI’s GTX 1080 Ti Gaming X Trio, a high-end factory overclocked GTX 1080 Ti, we recorded a Graphics Score of 4677.

It is worth noting that this result is probably from Nvidia’s RTX 2080 Founders Edition, which ships with a factory overclock, though it is likely that AIB RTX 2080 cards will release with the same (or higher) overclock out of the box, lest their custom models be considered inferior to Nvidia’s home-grown offering.

Assuming that this result is accurate, Nvidia’s RTX 2080 is capable of surpassing high-end GTX 1080 Ti graphics cards, though readers should never judge a new product based on the results of a single benchmark.
