AMD partners reportedly shift focus to next-gen RDNA 4 GPUs

AMD’s partners are reportedly busy prepping new RDNA 4 graphics cards, not new RDNA 3 models

Last week, there were reports that AMD were developing new Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300 RDNA 3 graphics cards. Now, Benchlife has citing sources within AMD’s AIB partners, that these GPUs are not in development. GPU manufacturers have reportedly shifted their focus to next-generation AMD RDNA 4 graphics cards, not new low-end RDNA 3 models.

Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300 are currently not on the development list of any AIB partners. This is a fact that we know. As mentioned earlier, everyone is currently busy with the next generation of Radeon graphics cards based on the RDNA 4 GPU architecture.

Currently, it is unknown when AMD plans to launch their next-generation RDNA 4 graphics cards. So far, AMD has been silent with regards to RNDA 4. No recent AMD event has placed any focus on RDNA 4. Instead, AMD has focused on Zen 5, XDNA 2 (AMD Ryzen AI), and their RDNA 3.5 integrated graphics architecture. As such, we should not expect to see RDNA 4 products in the near-term future.

Currently, it seems likely that AMD will launch RDNA 4 in early 2025. Unless AMD makes a surprise reveal for RDNA 4 soon, we don’t expect to see next-generation Radeon GPUs this year.

So what about AMD’s Radeon RX 7400 and RX 7300? While AMD’s AIB partners don’t appear to be working on these GPUs, it is possible that they could be used in pre-built desktop systems from companies like Dell, HP, or Lenovo. These GPUs may never be available as standalone products.
