AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT specifications Leak
AMD Radeon RX 9070 XT Specifications leak through GPU-Z Screenshot
HKEPC has released a GPU-Z screenshot showcasing the specifications of AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT graphics card. This is the company’s top RDMA 4 graphics card, and it is due to be released next month.
Note that this is not the first time that specifications for AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT have leaked. However, this leak confirms that AMD’s newest Radeon GPU will support PCIe 5.0.
We suspect that this new RDNA 4 GPU is an aftermarket design, as it features a 3.1 GHz boost clock speeds. This is higher than the previously leaked reference clock speeds of AMD’s RX 9070 XT. Note that this leak also confirms that AMD’s new GPU has 16GB of GDDR6 memory over a 256-bit memory bus. Nvidia’s lowest-end RTX 50-series GPU to have 16GB of VRAM is the company’s $999 RTX 5080.

Below are some previously leaked specifications for AMD’s RX 9070 Xt and RX 9070. Note that these GPUs are closely matched to AMD’s RX 7800 Xt and RX 7700 XT when comparing their Compute Unit counts.
Even if we discount AMD’s architectural enhancements with RDNA 4, the RX 9070 XT has faster clock speeds and more Compute Units than the RX 7800 XT. This will make AMD’s new RDNA 4 GPU faster than its predecessor. Add on AMD’s architectural advancements, and AMD’s RX 9070 XT could be an incredibly impressive graphics card.

AMD’s RDNA 4 architectural advancements
AMD mentioned several architectural advancements during their CES 2025 preview for RDNA 4. For starters, AMD referenced “optimised compute units”, implying that AMD is getting more performance from each compute unit with RDNA 4. Additionally, AMD has confirmed that they have delivered “improved raytracing per CU.” As such, gamers should expect more ray tracing performance per compute unit, implying that AMD’s RT accelerators have become much faster.
Next, we have AMD’s new 2nd Generation AI accelerators, which will power features like FSR 4. Furthermore, AMD has also promised better media encoding with their latest GPUs.
AMD has promised a lot with RDNA 4. If AMD can deliver these improvements and maintain strong pricing, AMD has the potential to gain a lot of market share in 2025. That said, AMD will need to deliver a strong value proposition; if they fail to do so, PC gamers will buy Nvidia GPUs. AMD needs to be very aggressive with RDNA 4.
