AMD RX 9070 XT VS Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti – AMD calls their GPU the value king
AMD declares their RX 9070 XT the value king – RTX 5070 Ti delivers less performance/$
During their Radeon RX 9070 series reveal, AMD compared their new Radeon RX 9070 XT to Nvidia’s newly released RTX 5070 Ti. During this comparison, AMD discussed the value proposition of their new Radeon RX 9070 XT, which has an MSRP of $599. That’s $150 less than Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti.
If AMD can maintain GPU pricing close to their GPU’s MSRP, AMD’s Radeon RX 9070 XT will be the GPU market’s price/performance king. Across 30+ tested games, AMD claims that their standard RX 9070 XT is only 2% behind Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti. That performance differential is tiny, especially after considering its much lower price tag.
Overall, AMD claims their Radeon RX 9070 XT delivers 23% more performance per dollar than Nvidia’s RTX 5070 Ti. That’s MSRP to MSRP. Since MSRP Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti GPUs are practically non-existant, AMD’s overall value proposition could be much higher.
AMD’s RX 9070 series value proposition relies on AMD’s ability to launch graphics cards that are close to the company’s MSRP price. If AMD released their RX 9070 XT with sufficient volume, and MSRP GPUs aren’t a minority product, AMD’s RX 9070 XT could be the value king of this GPU generation.
AMD has confirmed that overclocked RX 9070 XT models are in the works that can best an Nvidia RTX 5070 Ti. These GPUs have a 340W TDP, which is higher than the RX 9070 Xt’s standard TDP of 304W.
If AMD can launch with a strong supply of MSRP RX 9000 series products, AMD has a chance to gain significant market share. This is especially true if AMD can capitalise on the low retail support of RTX 50 series graphics cards.
